One million gallons of delightfully warm natural hot springs water!
Since it first opened in 1926, the Ouray Hot Springs Pool has provided a relaxing family oriented environment in which to enjoy the soothing pleasures of hot mineral water. when not relaxing in the hot mineral water, swimmers can cool off on the water slide (open during the summer months only), or may choose to enjoy the lap lane swimming area.
Several natural springs supply the pool with hot water, crystal clear and free from the strong smell of sulfur typical of hot springs. Temperatures at the source of these springs is approximately 150 degrees. During the summer months, water from the municipal water system cools the pool to temperatures of 80 F to 106 F. The pool has a massage facility as well as an 1800 sq. ft. exercise room with Nautilus exercise equipment. The Ouray Hot Springs Pool is located on the National Historic Register.

FELLIN PARK AT THE OURAY HOT SPRINGS POOL
The Ouray Hot Springs Park, also known as Fellin Park, is located south of the pool, has a playground, basketball courts, skate park, horseshoe pit, volleyball net, track, and the baseball field where Smoky Joe Wood once played. The picnic and gazebo areas in this beautiful park, surrounded by 13,000 ft. mountains, can be reserved for private parties for a fee. Reservation information can be received by calling 970-325-7065.

BOX CANON WATERFALLS
AND VISITOR CENTER
Box Canon Falls, Ouray's own wonder of the world, is the culmination of Canyon Creek narrowing and spilling thousands of gallons a minute of water over the falls. At this most spectacular geological formation, the 285 foot waterfall plummets into a narrow quartzite canyon. The narrow rock walls tower over the falls by nearly 100 feet!
There are three interpretive trails in the park that range from easy to moderately difficult. The park offers picnicking, hiking, and unforgettable sightseeing. Our visitor center houses interpretive exhibits, describing the geology, wildlife, and history of the area. The park is on CR361 - off highway 550 just south of Ouray.
The Box Canon is recognized by the National Audubon Society as a birding hot-spot. Home to a significant colony of Black Swifts, the Box Canon is frequented by ornithologists, bird enthusiasts, and nature lovers. Whether actively seeking a specific bird species, or simply sitting in the beautiful scenery, listening to bird songs, watching the birds and chipmunks, the natural amenities of the Box Canon Park are always enjoyable.
Because of the popularity of the Box Canon Falls as a nature viewing area dogs are not allowed within the park. Dogs are welcome on nearly all other trails in the Ouray area.
The Ouray Ice Climbing Park is located within the Box Canon. There are many areas within the park that provide unique winter climbing opportunities and a chance to view world-class ice climbing competition.
Admission to the Box Canon is $3.00 for adults, $1.50 for children 6 to 12 years old, and $2.50 for those over the age of 65.
The Box Canon Park and Visitor Center hours are as follows:
- The Box Canon Visitor Center is open daily from Mothers Day week-end in May until the middle of October.
- During the month of May from 9 am to 5 pm.
- Memorial Day through Labor Day 8:00 am to 8 pm.
- After Labor Day the Box Canon Park is open from 8 am until dusk.
The Visitor Center closes for the season in mid-October, re-opening on Mothers Day week-end of May.
